Talma Ski is a ski resort founded in 1984, visited by approximately 100,000 skiers during the winter season. Talma has ten slopes. Two snow parks, the only halfpipe in Southern Finland, a family slope, steeper slopes for those looking for speed, and really easy slopes for beginners. There are a total of 8 lifts, two of which are carpet lifts and one chairlift (opened in the 2025-2026 season). Talma is currently undergoing a large construction project for new slopes, the first of which was opened during the 2025-2026 season. Talma has an equipment rental shop with a wide selection of equipment for rent - both for the day and for the entire winter season. The rental shop also has equipment maintenance. Talma also has an active ski school (Talma Active Oy), which organizes many courses for both children and adults and private lessons throughout the winter. Talma's restaurant, Restaurant SNÖ, is run by an external company, Lumihuippu Oy. In addition to the winter season, Talma operates almost year-round; in the summer, Talma operates an adventure park, which in addition to the climbing park, offers other activities such as paintball, minigolf and frisbee golf.
Talma Ski has about 10 full-time staff all year round, in addition to about twenty seasonal workers in winter and a few in summer, several dozen ski instructors and about 15 ski patrols (ski patrols are volunteers). Talma Ski's winter season lasts approximately from November to April. However, the start and end of the season always depends on the weather conditions. In some winters, the season can only start in January, sometimes even as early as October. When spring comes, the season can sometimes end quickly, but you can usually ski until the beginning or middle of April.
During the winter season, Talma Ski is generally open on weekdays from 4:00 PM to 8:30 PM and on weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. During the school holidays, Christmas and ski holidays, the opening hours on weekdays are 10:00 AM to 8:00 AM. Work shifts naturally fall within these opening hours. Unfortunately, public transport does not take you all the way to work, the nearest stops are about 1.5 km away.
